Taking Artwork Beyond the Classroom
From annual art exhibitions to creative catwalk shows, children have opportunities not only to complete their work, but also to share ideas, appreciate their peers’ creations and bring their creativity to a real stage.
“Mummy, I really want to learn to draw here!” BaoBao suddenly stopped and said to me. It turned out to be Little Prince Art. Looking more closely, I noticed that the students’ work was really lovely and had such a cheerful feel, so I decided to let him try a class straight away to see whether he really enjoyed drawing.
Time flies when you are having fun. An hour later, the teacher praised him for concentrating and following instructions so well. His first painting was a lovely surprise — I had no idea he could paint so well! He was very pleased with it too and took it around to show everyone. By coincidence, a few of his classmates also learn at Little Prince Art.
When we got home, BaoBao told me he had really enjoyed the lesson, liked the teacher and wanted to go back to learn more! That is what matters most — that he is happy. I will keep sharing his artwork!

Clara has been learning at Little Prince Art for almost a year. She started in L1, beginning with cutting and sticking, then dots, lines and shapes. Building those foundations has increased her interest in drawing and helped her concentration too!
I remember that when she first started, she could not sit and draw for half an hour. Now she can even sit and draw for two hours, and she can create compositions that tell a story of her own. Her pictures are full of all her favourite things!
Ming Wai has been learning art at Little Prince Art for almost a year. From being too nervous to enter the classroom on her own at the first lesson, she now goes into class independently and shares something different with me after every lesson. She really has grown so much.
At LPA, each lesson introduces a different theme. Sometimes they add different elements to the artwork, such as clay or craft, so I can see that she has learnt to use many different materials and techniques. At home, she sometimes practises drawing on her own and uses the techniques she has learnt in class. I am so happy to see her keep progressing.
She also really likes the teachers and the environment at LPA!
